90 Days In, Getting Back to His Best

Daniel Johnson loves epic adventures—hiking steep terrain, dirt bike riding, multi-day hunting trips in the backcountry. The kind of activities that demand strength, endurance, and a body that can recover quickly.

But a few months ago, he could feel age catching up. Outdoor sports once a week wasn't enough anymore. His strength was declining. His endurance was slipping. And he knew if he wanted to keep having those epic adventures, something had to change.

His friend Andrea is a member at Timber & Steel and is achieving incredible results, so Daniel decided to give it a try.

What's Changed in 90 Days

"I am already seeing noticeable results in my strength, stamina and mobility," Daniel says.

But the real test came last week during a hunting trip—30 miles of steep terrain over four days. Before Timber & Steel, a trip like that would have left him needing days to recover. This time? "I woke up feeling strong each day."

That's what we care about here. Not just what happens in the gym, but what happens when you walk out the door. Daniel isn't training to look a certain way. He's training so he can keep doing what he loves—and do it better.

The Hardest Part? Making the Time

Daniel is honest about the challenge: "Life is busy and carving out the extra hours during a week to get my workouts in is still a challenge."

But having training sessions available at a variety of times each day makes it possible. He can fit training into his life instead of rearranging his life around training.

Coaching That Meets You Where You Are

"All the Timber & Steel coaches are fantastic," Daniel says. "They do a great job of meeting me where I am each day and find ways to coach me on new movements without making me feel overwhelmed."

Not every workout is a great day. Some days feel strong. Some days don't. But Daniel's learned to show up anyway—and trust the process.

One of his proudest moments? A 45-minute air bike calorie workout that he thought was going to be brutal. "I settled into a good pace and was able to exceed my expectations and felt good for the whole workout."

Why He Shows Up

The community matters. "The other members are also amazing and it is so inspiring to see each of them showing up to make themselves stronger."

And his advice to anyone considering starting their fitness journey?

"You are stronger than you think. Take the first step and show up. Do what you can. The only person you have to impress is yourself."

What's Next

Daniel is excited to see how much his fitness can improve his performance during outdoor adventures. "I always want to see what's over the next ridge, and I feel like Timber & Steel is giving me the strength to add more ridges to my adventure days."

"I am 40 years old, and I am getting back my ability to be my best."

That's what this is about. Not perfection. Not comparison. Just reclaiming the strength to do what matters to you—and doing it well.
