Our Team

Personal training and group coaching for real people, in Nampa, Idaho.

Our coaches know what real adult life looks like: long workdays, kids’ schedules, stress, sore backs, and the weeks where your best plan gets blown up by something you didn’t see coming. We’re not here to pretend you can train like a 22-year-old with unlimited free time. We build training that fits your season, keeps you safe, and helps you make steady progress with the time and energy you actually have.

Every coach here has done the work themselves. We know what it's like to start from scratch, to fall off track, and to figure out what it actually takes to stay consistent. That's why we don't just hand you a program and wish you luck. We build something around your life, your schedule, and what you can realistically show up for.

With over 50 years combined coaching people through personal training, group classes, and everything in between, we know what works and what doesn't.

Clayton Borah

Founder & Head Coach

Clayton founded Timber & Steel in 2013 believing fitness should serve your whole life, not just one corner of it. He holds certifications in CrossFit L2, TRS Level 2, and CrossFit Gymnastics and has been coaching for over a decade. He cares about quality movement and proper technique, but he's the first to remind you that the goal isn't perfection. It's progress.

Bridgett Borah

Founder & Coach

Bridgett co-founded Timber & Steel in 2015 and started coaching in 2016. She holds a CrossFit Level 1 and TRS Level 2 certification. She didn't come from an athletic background, which makes her easy to relate to if you're new to this. She pays close attention to movement quality and mobility, and she's very good at finding the right scaling option for where you actually are.

Bertha Bock

Coach

Bertha brings decades of coaching experience, having been in the fitness industry since the 1980s. She's coached aerobics, worked as a running coach, and even worked at a gym owned by Richard Simmons. She has a CrossFit Level 2 certification. Bertha is one of the most encouraging coaches you'll meet, and that comes through in how calm and capable she is with people at any level. Her background covers general fitness training and injury rehab, and that range shows up in how she coaches.

Nate Jansen

Coach

Nate is the newest addition to the team. He started as a member, trained here for several years, earned his CrossFit Level 1 certification, and stepped into coaching this year. He's naturally empathetic and easy to be around, which is obvious within about five minutes of working with him.
