Finding Clarity
One of my life goals is to improve the lives of 10,000 people.
Putting that number in writing makes me feel a little scared, but that is ok. That means it will stretch me.
At Timber & Steel, that same idea is a big part of what we do and how we do it.
We remove confusion around health and fitness and give you clear direction on being fit for life, without spending hours a day in the gym.
To do that, we function in two primary ways.
As a Filter
We cannot be with you all the time. And we know you are going to get fitness advice from everywhere. Friends. Family. Strangers on the internet. People who mean well, but do not know what you need.
The problem is not that you are hearing advice. The problem is that you are hearing too much of it, and most of it does not apply to you. It is hard to know what fitness information is worth listening to and what should be ignored. That is where a filter matters.
We understand your goals, and we can tell you if the at-home workout you saw on Instagram is actually going to move you toward them.
Are those knee sleeves going to improve your squat? Maybe. Or maybe you are trying to buy your way out of a technique problem.
Either way, we will tell you the truth, and we will tell you why.
Simple, Actionable Advice
We do not just help you weed out the noise. We also give you a simple plan. Most of the fitness industry is trying to sell you something. Even when it is not, it is still trying to be novel. New angles. New hacks. New “secrets.”
You don’t need that.
You don’t need fancy fitness gadgets.
You don’t need gimmicky supplements.
You don’t need “muscle confusion” workouts.
You need a simple plan that you can stick to consistently for a long time.
That is part of what we do in personal training and group training. It is also why we ask for regular goal updates from our members.
Goals change. Capacity changes. Life gets heavier or lighter depending on the season you are in. We want to know what has changed so we can give you the best next step, not generic advice.
Helping people find the most direct route toward their goals matters to me. It is a big task, and it requires that I do not waste time with vague advice.
Our coaches are here to help you.
It’s up to you to ask, and then be willing to follow the advice.
