Yesenia V.
When Yesenia first walked through the doors at Timber & Steel, she wasn’t looking for perfection—she was looking for a place she could show up as herself.
“I decided to give it a try because it sounded like a place I could come with no experience,” she remembers. Her goal was simple but powerful: to feel strong enough to keep up with her two boys. Still, the worry lingered—what if I can’t keep up with everyone else?
But over the last 90 days, Yesenia has proven herself wrong in all the best ways.
“I’ve noticed that I can do more than my brain makes me think I can. I have more energy now, and overall, I just feel good.”
The difference has stretched far beyond the gym walls. With a brighter mood and more energy, she’s looking forward to staying active with her family and stepping into new challenges.
Of course, the journey hasn’t been without obstacles.
“I get in my own head and tell myself something is too hard or that my body can’t do it. But the coaches here are so supportive. The scaling options give me a way to build up, and I know I’ll get closer with time.”
One of her proudest moments so far? Conquering a piece of equipment that once felt overwhelming.
“The GHD machine used to freak me out! The coaches were so patient, and now I’m not intimidated by it anymore.”
When asked what she’d tell someone who’s unsure about starting, Yesenia doesn’t hesitate:
“Jump in and start slow and steady—but find a supportive team to help you through the process.”
For Yesenia, Timber & Steel isn’t just a gym. It’s a place where she’s learning she’s stronger than she thought—and building the kind of strength that carries into every part of life.
