Like many people starting their fitness journey, Kesley was looking for more than just a place to work out - she was seeking a gym where she could rediscover her love for fitness in a more personal and intimate setting. "I was looking for a more personable and intimate gym where I could enjoy working out again and finding some community as a newbie!" she shares.

What sets Kesley's approach apart is her refreshing perspective on consistency. Rather than fixating on personal records (PRs), she embraced a philosophy that would serve her well: "Showing up for myself and just trying my best would provide good results."

Since joining Timber & Steel, Kesley has experienced a remarkable shift in her relationship with fitness. "I have an eagerness and genuine desire to show up to the gym," she explains, crediting the encouragement from coaches and fellow classmates as a constant source of motivation.

The benefits have extended far beyond the gym walls. With increased energy levels and enhanced self-motivation, Kesley has found herself embracing a healthier lifestyle overall. "I have a lot more energy and am much more self-motivated to be healthy outside of just a daily workout," she notes.

"All the coaches are incredibly encouraging and available," she shares, highlighting how different this feels from her previous gym experiences where coaches didn't even know her name.

Overcoming Challenges

Like many of us, Kesley identifies confidence as her biggest obstacle. However, she's found strength in the gym's supportive environment: "While overcoming it does require some internal self reflection, surrounding myself with amazing friends and community who pour into me and encourage has been the biggest help in this area of my life."

Looking Ahead

Kesley's journey continues to evolve, with clear goals in sight. She's now focusing on building upper body strength and improving her endurance through running-focused workouts. Her progress is marked by surprising herself in workouts, consistently pushing beyond what she thought possible.
