Crystal’s Story
At Timber and Steel, we believe everyone has an amazing story of transformation. Today, we're excited to share Crystal's journey - a testament to how strength training can change not just your body, but your entire perspective on fitness.
Crystal, a 39-year-old business owner and mother, initially approached our gym with caution and fear of judgment. Like many people new to strength training, she was uncertain about what to expect in a CrossFit environment. Her story resonates with anyone who has felt intimidated by fitness spaces.
"When I first started, I thought deadlifting 45 pounds was heavy," Crystal shares with a laugh. "That's just a bag of dog food, something I shouldn't have found challenging. But it was heavy for me then."
What makes Crystal's story remarkable is not just the physical transformation – now confidently lifting over 150 pounds – but how quickly she discovered that Timber and Steel wasn't like other gyms she had experienced.
For Crystal, the most valuable aspect of training with us has been the community. She describes it as a "family" where members push each other toward greater accomplishments. This supportive environment transformed her approach to fitness, helping her overcome initial fears and embrace new challenges.
Her message to those hesitating to begin their fitness journey? "It's possible to achieve these fitness goals, and it's not as daunting as they may seem."
Crystal's story exemplifies what we strive for at Timber and Steel: creating a welcoming space where people of all fitness levels can grow stronger, both physically and mentally.
